Make your own Powerful Mould Removal Spray

Make your own Powerful Mould Removal Spray
30 January 2025

Use this environmentally friendly mould removal spray to eliminate and remove mould from your bathroom today.

This recipe is particularly effective for deep mould growth and persistent mould stains on bathroom surfaces. Hydrogen Peroxide is biodegradable and non toxic when used as follows:

INGREDIENTS FOR 500ML

  • 440ml water

  • 40ml 35% hydrogen peroxide

METHOD

Add the water to your Améli Home vessel first, then add the hydrogen peroxide and stir gently to combine.

USE

Spray the solution onto the tiles and surfaces, wait for 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

You may notice a bubbling sensation when you apply the solution, this is the release of oxygen into the water as it comes into contact with the porous surfaces.  This bubbling action will help to lift the mould stains from the surface.

If the stains persist, you can apply the 35% hydrogen peroxide directly onto the surfaces, however please use this only in a well ventilated area and ensure you are wearing protective eyewear, gloves and a mask. Allow it to penetrate for 5 minutes before thoroughly rinsing, and do not allow it to dry on the surface.

NOTES

We recommend testing the spray in an inconspicuous location before using.

Please also see our gentle mould removal spray recipe in the previous journal article, if you would prefer a gentler option, without hydrogen peroxide.

We recommend wearing protective clothing, such as a mask and gloves to avoid inhalation of mould spores and to avoid spreading the mould spores into other parts of your home.

For safety reasons, if storing this solution after use, please ensure it is kept in a cool, dark location.
