The statistics
Each year, more than 430 million tonnes of plastic is produced throughout the world, with more than half of this being attributed to single-use items. It’s predicted that by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans.
In Australia alone, the average person contributes roughly 100kg of plastic to landfill each year, with 5kg landing in the ocean.

For every vessel sold within our collection, you are helping to prevent single-use plastic bottles heading to landfill.
Sustainable Partnership
We’ve partnered with CleanHub to take immediate action against the plastics crisis. For every order placed with Améli home, CleanHub will recover 1kg of plastic from a collection hub in Kozhikode, India on our behalf.
Our promise
Sustainable Materials
We use 100% recycled plastic for our vessels, caps and trays. This reduces the need for raw materials, while protecting our natural resources and decreasing carbon emissions.
Our mailer boxes are made in Australia from FSC certified cardboard and 80% recycled materials. The boxes are printed with water based inks, free from harmful chemicals and are 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Our brown packaging tape is made of 100% recycled materials, FSC certified, acid free and non toxic adhesive derived from potatoes. The tape is recyclable so you do not need to remove it from the box.
Our clear packaging tape is used occasionally for our larger packages. It is made of bio film and natural rubber adhesive. It is compostable and biodegradable but not recyclable, so please remove it from your box before recycling.
Our shipping boxes are made of 100% recycled materials and are recyclable.
Our envelopes are made in Australia from 100% recycled materials, they are chlorine free and are recyclable.
Our tissue paper is made in Australia, it is recyclable and biodegradable.
Our thank you cards are made with 99.9% recycled materials, using FSC certified post consumer waste and they are recyclable.
Our mailer satchels are 100% home compostable, but not recyclable.
Our pumps and sprays are made with virgin plastic. They are recyclable but in most locations, not kerbside recyclable. We have partnered with TerraCycle to recycle these components. Please email recycle@amelihome.com for a reply paid shipping mailer.
People Conscious materials
We have undertaken testing on our products with the global leaders in polymer testing. This testing has proven the safety of the post-consumer recycled materials used to manufacture our bottles including being 100% BPA free.
ETHICAL AND SAFE MANUFACTURING
We are committed to ethical and safe manufacturing.
Our manufacturer is proud to uphold very high standards in accordance with SMETA who assess their labour practices, health and safety, environmental impact and business ethics.
They provide all employees with safe and fair working conditions, with freely chosen employment and without child labour.

Through our use of recycled plastics, we are reducing our fossil fuel consumption and carbon emissions while contributing to less emission of common landfill gases.

We believe there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the sustainable manufacture of pumps and sprays.
We are constantly evolving and looking at new ways of reducing our environmental footprint even further. One of our goals is to convert to 100% recycled plastic in the production of our pumps and sprays where possible. We welcome all thoughts and feedback from our community.
